Earlier Versions of STEP 7-Micro/WIN, Micro/DOS Projects (GS 8.5)

To work with a project that was created in an earlier version of STEP 7-Micro/WIN or STEP 7-Micro/DOS, click on the Open button, or choose File>Open, and select the desired project.

Notes:

·Projects created by earlier versions of STEP 7-Micro/WIN or STEP 7-Micro/DOS may contain one or more logical constructs that STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32, Version 3.0 and higher, does not support. To open the project successfully, you must use the earlier version of the programming package that created the project and re-save the project according to the following procedure.

1.Switch the program editor to STL.

2.Turn symbolic addressing off.

3.Save the project file.

Once these steps are completed, the project can be opened successfully in Version 3.0 or above.

·Programs created with STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32 V3.1 SP1 that use the single input AND instruction in FBD, and are saved in the FBD view, cannot be opened with STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32 V3.1. In order to open these projects with STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32 V3.1, the project should first be converted to the STL view and saved.

·You cannot use Open to open a project that resides on a PLC; the project file must reside on your personal computer/ programming device.

·Only one project can be open for each instance of STEP-7 Micro/WIN 32. You must run 2 instances of STEP-7 Micro/WIN 32 to have 2 projects open at the same time. When 2 instances are open, you can copy and paste LAD/ FBD program elements and STL text from one project to the other.
